More Big Gov Is Coming

Less than three months into Joe Biden’s Administration, the Democrats are already doing away with bipartisanship and are gearing up to go full-on Partisan to pass their Socialistic Agenda. Nevertheless, the American People seem to be on board with this approach, with those who voted Democrat being overall in favor in which the way Government is plowing forward. That is a vast and potentially dangerous issue. Today, I am reviewing the three most pressing issues Democrats want to tackle and debunking their dubious plans.
Recently, Joe Biden introduced a $2.25 Trillion Infrastructure Plan that could very well be described as The Green New Deal 2.0. This Plan would spend $621 Billion on Transportation, $174 Billion on Electric Vehicle Investments, $213 Billion on Affordable Housing, $400 Billion on Caregiving For Elderly Americans, and $100 Billion on expanding Broadband Internet. I consider this Plan to be a starting offer. Progressive Democrats want more climate change spending. I imagine that there will be a lot more Climate Change Provisions in the final package.
How do they pay for this Plan? They raise taxes. Most notably, the Corporate Tax Rate. President Trump & Congressional Republicans lowered the Corporate Tax Rate to 21% in 2017. However, this Plan will raise it to 28%. An important thing to consider is that China’s Corporate Tax Rate is only 25%. That reduces our competitiveness plain and simply.
As I have stated, I believe this Plan is The Green New Deal 2.0. It fits more priorities in one Big Government Bill. This should not be labeled “infrastructure” — it should be marked as a “Big Government Giveaway.”
Gun Control is something that the Left wants to accomplish, but it is unlikely to happen unless the filibuster is eliminated. Joe Biden would like assault weapons banned and universal background checks. However, research published in Criminology & Public Policy in January 2020 concluded that assault weapons bans “do not seem to be associated with the incidence of fatal mass shootings.” In addition to that, a self-professed Gun Control Advocate has finalized a report saying “that universal background checks do not work because they are not enforced.” The Left will not tell you that.
More Radical Gun Control Plans, such as H.R. 127 introduced by Sheila Jackson Lee, would create a mandatory registry, mandate gun insurance, establish a minimum gun ownership age of 21, require a psychological exam, and the completing of a Government Training Course before the purchase of a gun, and so much more.
Thankfully, Gun Control stands little to no chance of passing, but it symbolizes why we must keep the pressure on Joe Manchin to keep the Senate filibuster.
Finally, Healthcare is an issue that could very well be passed by reconciliation. Joe Biden would like to establish a public healthcare option, codify Roe v Wade, repeal the Hyde Amendment, and build significantly on Obamacare. It should be evident to the American People that States and not the Federal Government should control Healthcare. One significant difference between Biden’s Plan and the Far-Left’s Plan is Medicare For All. Biden wants Medicare For All who want it, while more progressive individuals want Medicare FOR ALL, with no consideration of their preference.
No matter the issue, as long as they have full Democrat Caucus Support, they can pass anything they want. Yes, they may have to eliminate the filibuster, but that seems more and more likely. The American People need to stand up now and reject Big Government, but Big Government becomes a Big Factor in our everyday lives, even more so.
